2006-01-10 [SleepingDragon]: Just a comment since I already had my two. I struggle with the plot thing too in my epic fantasy I am working on. I have a general roadmap in my head but I let the chapters take me where they will so to speak. It's worked out fine so far except for the occasional writers block when needing to start a new section. Sorry for the long post but I thought a bit of conversation here wouldn't hurt either

2006-01-10 [Askoga]: Hee, I know exactly what you're talking about, letting the chapters go where they will. I do the same thing, often, and sometimes the story ends up quite differently than I'd expected. It's fun, really, to see where the characters will take the story.

2006-01-10 [SleepingDragon]: Yea, exactly. Usually for me it's better than I may have planned something. Leaves room for new and sometimes great ideas to develope.

2006-01-10 [Mister Saint]: I've always found that planning too much means I never get started on a story. o.o If I know exactly what's gonna happen then I tend to rush to make it happen, instead of gradually building.

2006-01-10 [Emily]: I have the same problem, [Mister Saint]. I usually jot down ideas that are vague and write stories based on that, or on titles.

2006-01-10 [Mister Saint]: Yeah, agreed. Actually, my book was never planned out. Just... improvised. It worked great, but there ended up being a whole assload of continuity issues that I had to go back and edit to fix, which took a looong time. O.o

2006-01-11 [SleepingDragon]: Hehe, I'm running into that already between book one and two of my thing. Gonna be some serious editing happening. On another note I started a new (shorter) story today in which I did a fairly comprehensive outline that I want to try to stick to. Chapter one down, 14 to go :)

2006-01-11 [Mister Saint]: *laughs* *cheers*

2006-01-11 [Mister Saint]: Before long, I will need a few dedicated flipsiders to aid me in creating guides and excercises to help with these problems listed. Savvy?

2006-01-11 [Emily]: Me savvy!

2006-01-11 [Burning Inside]: hey, yea I wrote one story, got like maybe 1/3 done and it was to...rushed....so I stopped, now on my new one its mostly good, but I haven't written anything in it for a while

2006-01-11 [Mister Saint]: Everyone, please note that the questions have been moved to Flipside Workshop Questions... because I'm dumb and didn't put them on a separate wiki to begin with. ^^

2006-01-11 [chuchutrain]: ok...but you aren't dumb...atleast I don't think so...

2006-01-11 [Burning Inside]: haha no way ur not dumb, u can't be dumb and come up with all of this

2006-01-11 [chuchutrain]: yeah! and if you are wow...you are one smart dumb person :D but that doesn't work so I'ma gonna shut up :)

2006-01-11 [Burning Inside]: it does work, see dumb person in school yet smart outside of school(most of the time) but yea thats me :)

2006-01-11 [chuchutrain]: I guess that could work...or like Jenny...smart in school and ditzy out :) it's great

2006-01-11 [Burning Inside]: lol yea but thats just wierd...her and her small big word that no one uses....lol

2006-01-11 [chuchutrain]: lol I learnt a new word from this site :D Antidisestablishmentarianish :D:D

2006-01-11 [Burning Inside]: lol yea but at least your is a big word....and I have only really learned new words because I was writings and needed to us a different word

2006-01-11 [chuchutrain]: yeah....

2006-01-11 [Mister Saint]: *pokes you both with sticks* Big words are like cake. Yummy, but too many make people womit. >.>

2006-01-11 [Burning Inside]: no they make people vomit...not womit lol

2006-01-11 [chuchutrain]: womit is funner :)

2006-01-11 [Burning Inside]: yea true enough

2006-01-11 [chuchutrain]: yeah....lol

2006-01-12 [Mister Saint]: Everyone, please notice that I gave the questions an ascending numerical order instead of just 1 and 2 for each person. When an article is posted it will answer questions directly, and on the workshop page, you can see which questions are answered next to the article's name. ^^

2006-01-12 [chuchutrain]: ok

2006-01-12 [Burning Inside]: kewl nice set up of all of Flipside there Moorn, Bravo *claps*

2006-01-12 [Mister Saint]: Everyone, please make certain to keep an eye on this page. It's quite a bit of work to put these articles together, so please read them. Especially if the article addresses on of your questions. ^-^

2006-01-12 [Mister Saint]: All members, please notice that I smell fantastic today. Also, notice that any member who wants to may write an article, provided that you know the material and can do it well. See the articles that are already up for the layout. ^^

2006-01-13 [chuchutrain]: o.O you...smell good? lol well that's...good I guess...lol better than smelling bad :)

2006-01-17 [Burning Inside]: Hey I'll join those two excercises later, don't have the time to read it now

2006-01-23 [Po]: Congrats on getting the love stories tute done, Moorn!

2006-01-23 [Mister Saint]: Thanks. Gourd... it took forever.

2006-09-11 [Nell]: Eep! I can't wait until part three of the BBC is up!
